More about me:
My passion and area of expertise is helping people master their thoughts and understand the connection between our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Humans generate thoughts in our heads and automatically believe them. Not all of our thoughts are true, accurate, or helpful! Learning to evaluate our thoughts and make adjustments before our mood, behavior, or day is impacted or ruined, is freeing, relieving, and empowering!
I studied psychology at Oakland University for my bachelors degree. With an early passion for research and clinical work, I went on to graduate school to pursue social work at Wayne State University, where I obtained my master of social work (MSW) degree, with a clinical focus in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I worked at the University of Michigan, Addiction Research Center, where I worked on clinical trials regarding substance use and the effectiveness of CBT. I also worked in a community mental health setting as a therapist for a diverse population of individuals. There I was able to highlight my authentic passion for helping others in large volumes of individuals and families.
I use a genuine, down to earth, empathetic approach to build trust and comfort for clients. I believe in self acceptance, letting go of self judgements, along with acknowledging all the various factors that impact our current state of mind and mood. I love and care about all people and will help you on your journey every step of the way! I am on your team!
